The Truth Under Our Nose
Elijah, a Haredi doctor, and John, a student, running from an angry mob down a narrow alley

The Truth
Under Our Nose

Why the Jews? Why does the hatred keep coming back?
A graphic novel about antisemitism, the oldest hatred.

A Jew and a pro-Palestinian walk into a bar. An angry mob outside. Nowhere to go. No block button. Just a table, two chairs, and a lot of time.

The story

Two people who were never supposed to meet

John is a student. A good guy, truly. He goes out to protest because he cares, because he wants justice, because he won't stand on the sidelines.

Elijah is a Haredi doctor who wandered into the wrong alley at the wrong moment. The mob doesn't make distinctions. One moment John is marching in the front row; the next he's "the Jew's friend." And he's the one who opens the door of his bar and pulls Elijah inside.

There, behind the closed door, the conversation begins. Not so that anyone wins. About one question that keeps coming back throughout history:

Every generation has its own reason to hate the Jews. So why does the target never change?

"I don't promise you'll agree with Elijah. I don't promise you'll agree with John either. I only ask that you stay in the room until the end." — B. Ingber
